The Knuckles Mountain Range is one of Sri Lanka’s most biodiverse and beautiful landscapes, protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Central Highlands. The range encompasses cloud forests, waterfalls, remote villages, ancient cave dwellings and a variety of endemic flora and fauna found nowhere else on earth. Hiking trails range from gentle half-day walks to challenging multi-day treks through terrain that shifts from open grassland to dense, dripping forest within a single hour.
